Meet the FBT Spreading team
Layton
Dispatch Manager
Layton has been part of the family for some 3 years. He started as a driver for the tractor spreader and then high tipper/ bulk trucks. He sure knows our vehicles and the industry.
As the Dispatch Manager for FBT, Layton manages this service and the Waikato shed crew farms and trucks.
Tania
Dispatch Administrator
Tania has the most industry experience of anyone in the team. She has been in the fertiliser and truck service industry for over 30 years.
Her career started with 8 years work for Farmers Fertiliser in 1989 (until it was sold).
We are fortunate to have had Tania with FBT for some 13 years. She is the glue in the dispatch team and puts our customers first.
Tania loves watching her kids play sports and you might spot her biking on the local walkway over weekends.
Mel
Group Business Development Manager
Mel has been involved in the Dairy industry for over 30 years.
First rising through the sharemilking industry, then working on several farms around coastal Taranaki. She decided on a change in career and worked for LIC in account management, progressing into the head office in Hamilton as Product Manager of MINDA.
Coaching is a natural talent and strength of Mel’s. She has trained in life coaching, ran a purpose-built training centre for the local Oil and Gas industry, and she has coached in the fitness industry.
Before jumping over to the Osflo and FBT team, Mel was a technical sales rep and store management for Farm Source in both Kaponga and New Plymouth.
Mel is always looking at how systems and services can be improved, with the customer being at the centre of her focus. A traveller at heart, Mel’s roles have sent her across the North and South Island and even further afield to Ireland.
Mel’s sense of adventure has seen her travel to multiple countries, exploring other cultures while enjoying her photography and the outdoors.
Tracey
Technical Specialist
Our newest team member, Tracey Thomson.
Tracey has an extensive background within farming and fertiliser. Most recently, she’s worked 5 years with Ballance.
Her experience started with BOP fertiliser back in 1999, before joining Summit Quinphos from 2002 until 2011.
Tracey has a strong interest in the science behind what we do. Her qualifications include a double degree in BSC and BA from Victoria University.
Along with many existing client relationships she also brings expertise in N-Cap compliance and reporting.
As an Inglewood local for some 20 years you may recognise her. She took a short break from the industry and set up her own local business Baby on the Move (which is still going strong).
Outside of business she also goes hard with being a mother of two and her passion for running. Having completed Twenty Half Marathons, Five Marathons and an Ironman event.
We look forward to you meeting Tracy and further growing your business.
Georgina
Technical Specialist
Georgina moved to Taranaki in 2019 after hopping around between the Kapiti Coast, Austria, Lincoln University and Tekapo, and came onboard as an intern at Osflo whilst completing her Environmental Science degree from Massey University.
After her internship, Georgina came on board with FBT fulltime as our very own Technical Services and has since completed courses covering sustainable nutrient management and farm environmental planning. She’s our resident mapping girl – so if you need your farm map done, hit her up! Outside of work, you’ll find her down in Hawera playing farm or jumping around the country visiting friends and family.
